victor Lindelof has been signed to strengthen the Manchester United defence – but he’s sent out a warning to his attacking teammates.
The Swedish centre back is likely to partner Eric Bailly as Jose Mourinho’s first choice central defensive pairing.
It’s likely to leave one of the existing defenders surplus to requirements next season.
But Lindelof is also hoping to have an impact further forward by utilising his free kick abilities.
Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata are all likely to be competing for set piece duties next term, but Lindelof is keen to throw his own hat into the ring.
He told MUTV : “I’m quite good at them so if I get an opportunity to take a free-kick, I think I’ll be there.”
Lindelof is set to meet up with his new teammates on July 8, when the squad reconvenes at Carrington ahead of the US pre-season tour.
