TOP STORY: Liverpool to bid £70m for Keita

Liverpool will make a stunning £70 million bid for No.1 target Naby Keita, reports the Mirror.

The Reds are pursuing the RB Leipzig general and believe he could be the final piece in Jurgen Klopp’s jigsaw ahead of a return to the Champions League.

A £57m offer has been rejected by the Bundesliga side, with Ralph Hasenhüttl keen to keep the Guinean for their own assault on Europe’s top competition.

Inter Milan are also reportedly keen to enter the bidding and could trump any offer from the Reds by offering the 22-year-old back on loan for a season.

10.12 BST: Alexis Sanchez says he has “made my decision” on whether to stay at Arsenal as he stressed the importance of playing in the Champions League.

“I want to play in the Champions League,” he said at a charity youth tournament in Tocopilla. “The decision isn’t up to me, I need to wait for Arsenal. I’ve made my decision, now I wait for Arsenal’s reply. The idea is to play and win the Champions League. I’ve dreamt about it since I was little.” Full story.

09.59 BST: Harry Redknapp has big plans for Birmingham and has told Sky Sports he wants to sign Ashley Cole, Robbie Keane and Stewart Downing. Full story.

09.43 BST: Sevilla have reached an agreement in principle with Manchester City for the transfer of winger Nolito, the Spanish club announced on Saturday night.

Nolito will have a medical in the coming days before signing a three-year deal, Sevilla said. The transfer fee has been reported to be about €9 million (£7.9m), after City paid €18m for him a year ago. Full story.

The 20-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract and arrives for a fee of €13.4m.

“I’m delighted to be here and very excited about meeting the fans,” Cengiz told Roma’s official website. “My aim is to earn myself a regular starting berth as quickly as possible.”

09.00 BST: Good morning and welcome to Sunday’s Transfer Talk live blog. We’ll kick off with a report from the Sunday Express that Real Madrid could consider cashing in on Gareth Bale in order to fund a bid for Kylian Mbappe.

The European champions are having trouble selling Alvaro Morata and may have to try and tempt Manchester United, Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain into taking the Wales international off their hands.

Chelsea’s monster Higuain bid rejected

It’s been a frustrating summer negotiating with Juventus for Chelsea, after a €70m offer was rejected for Alex Sandro, and it seems the Old Lady is not prepared to relinquish her stars to the Blues.

While Antonio Conte will have been angered by Manchester United pipping his side to the signing of Romelu Lukaku, it has pushed them to look at Gonzalo Higuain — with Tuttosport claiming a bid worth €100m has been rebuffed.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is another target as Chelsea aim to fill the void set to be left by the outgoing Diego Costa.

The Spain international is being frozen out at Cobham, and sources have told ESPN FC that he will not join the squad on their preseason tour.

Toffees plan audacious Walcott move

Everton have outlined their ambitions with a flurry of signings to own the summer transfer window.

Theo Walcott is a shock target now for Ronald Koeman, according to the Mirror, with the Toffees aiming to table a £30m bid to tempt the Gunners into a sale.

The England international, who is seen as a replacement for Yannick Bolasie while he recovers, shone in the first half of last season, yet faded down the stretch as Arsenal fell short of a top-four finish.

Moving to Goodison would also put Walcott in the Europa League, but with a greater chance of landing a World Cup squad place due to guaranteed games.

– Stoke are holding out for £22m as West Ham continue to pursue Marko Arnautovic, according to the Mail.

The Hammers’ latest offer, thought to be £20m, was knocked back as 10 percent of the fee would have been siphoned off in agent fees and bonuses.

– Roma have upped their offer to €23m for Leicester star Riyad Mahrez, according to Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio. Leicester reportedly rejected a €20m bid on Saturday, but the Serie A side seem intent on landing the Premier League winner.

The Algerian winger remained with the Foxes last summer amid serious interest from Premier League giants and is now set to depart, with Arsenal also in the hunt.

– Liverpool aim to solve their long-term left-back problem with a move for Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi, reports the Mirror, after the French star’s troubles over a move to Sevilla.

Villa had agreed a deal with the La Liga side but then disputed the results of the 23-year-old’s medical results, which could now allow the Reds to steal in.

– Juventus will up their interest in Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic next week, while also aiming to get Milan back for signing their defensive talisman Leonardo Bonucci this week, reports Corriere dello Sport.

Massimiliano Allegri is lining up a double move for full-back Mattia De Sciglio and midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who have both slipped down the pecking order after the Rossoneri’s summer spending spree.
